First Mate Silas Vane

Location: The Crystal Archipelago / The Howling Gale Faction: The Gilded Corsairs (formerly) / Mutineers

Silas Vane is a cunning and ruthless sailor, currently serving (or rebelling) as the First Mate aboard the legendary iron-reinforced galleon, The Howling Gale.

He is a distant cousin of the famous Commander Vane, but while his relative chose a life of rigid military discipline, Silas embraced the chaos of the open sea. He is deeply suspicious of the Steamfort Syndicate and their encroaching influence over independent vessels.

Recently, he led a violent mutiny against his former captain, "Iron-Eye" Kael, after discovering secret manifests showing the ship was carrying illegal "Void-Silver" extracted from the forbidden Shaft 42 of The Deep Mines. Silas is charismatic, highly skilled with a cutlass and a flintlock pistol, and completely unbothered by the moral ambiguities of piracy, so long as his crew remains free from the Syndicate's yoke.
