Silas "Silver-Tongue" Vane

Silas Vane is the black sheep of the influential Vane family. While his siblings and cousins occupy positions of power in Kigum’s various guilds and the Arcane Ascendancy, Silas has always preferred the life of a high-stakes gambler and rogue. He is extraordinarily charismatic, capable of talking his way out of almost any situation, a talent that earned him his moniker.

Silas's most recent "misadventure" involved an attempted mutiny on the Howling Gale, a prestigious Vane merchant vessel. He nearly succeeded in convincing the entire crew to abandon their contracts and join him in a life of piracy, but he was caught at the last moment by his own sister, Captain Lyra Vane. Now, he is a man on the run, using his family connections and his natural charm to stay one step ahead of both the law and his own relatives.

Secret Motivation: "Silas didn't just want to be a pirate; he discovered that the Howling Gale was carrying a secret shipment of soul-trapping crystals destined for a dark ritual in Kigum, and he was trying to prevent the ship from reaching its destination."

Adventure Hook: "The players encounter Silas in a tavern where he is currently 'winning' a game of cards against several Kigum city guards. He recruits the players to help him retrieve a 'family heirloom' from a Vane warehouse, which is actually the soul-trapping crystals he tried to steal before."
