Grit the Informant

Grit is a shadowy and elusive Mist-Whisker who operates as the primary informant for Market-Master Pip. He is a master of blending into the background of the Barnacle Market and Drift-Haven, listening to the conversations of sailors, scavengers, and visiting pirates. Grit is a small, wiry mouse with fur that is always dusted with grey soot, making him nearly invisible in the shadows of the root-labyrinth.

Grit’s knowledge of the "Underside" of The Shrouded Boughs is encyclopedic. He knows which captains are smuggling illegal aether-shards, which scavengers have found the best wrecks, and which gulls are currently nesting near the city. He is a mercenary at heart, selling his information to the highest bidder, though he maintains a long-standing and profitable contract with Pip.

While he is not a fighter, Grit is exceptionally fast and clever. He has escaped from more "sticky situations" than most Muridae scouts, often using his specialized smoke-puffs to disappear into the fog.

Secret Motivation: Grit is secretly a member of the Whispering Eye, a network of spies based on the Aethervale mainland. He is feeding information about the Mousefolk's defenses to a mysterious contact in Kigum, though he is starting to have second thoughts as he becomes more attached to his home in the Boughs.

Adventure Hook: Grit has overheard a group of Gilded Corsairs planning a raid on the Golden Hive. He needs the party to deliver this information to Grand Warden Hekka without revealing his own identity.
