Grog the Grinder

Title: Champion of the Iron Pit
Role: Grog is a half-orc with more scars than skin. He is the undisputed champion of the "Iron Pit," an underground arena where warriors and mechs fight for the amusement of Steamfort’s lower classes. He is a man of few words, preferring to let his massive Aether-powered hammer do the talking. He is a local hero to the workers, who see him as a symbol of their own struggle.

Secret Motivation: Grog is a former member of the Obsidian Scale. He fled the cult after being ordered to assassinate a group of innocent elven children. He is now being hunted by the cult’s "Cleaners," and he uses his fame in the arena as a shield. He is gathering a group of loyal fighters to strike back at the cult’s local cell, but he needs a leader who isn't as "recognizable" as he is.

Adventure Hook: Grog is attacked by a group of "assassins" (cultists) after a match. The party happens to be in the audience and can intervene. Grog then offers them a place in his "Final Match"—a raid on the cult’s headquarters.
