Multiattack.Vane makes three attacks with his curved blade.
Curved Blade.Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) fire damage. If the target is a creature, it starts bleeding; it takes 5 (1d10) necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns until it receives magical healing or a creature uses an action to make a DC 15 Wisdom (Medicine) check to stop the bleeding.

Appearance

Captain Vane is a massive, sun-scarred human with a prosthetic left arm made of jagged, reinforced obsidian. He wears heavy armor plates crafted from the shells of Dune-Threshers and carries a massive, curved blade that glows with the heat of the Shattered Plains.

Personality

Brutal, boisterous, and hedonistic, Vane enjoys the chaos of battle more than the spoils of war. He has a deep, begrudging respect for anyone who can survive a desert duel with him and treats his "Dust-Rider" horde like a violent, extended family.

Secret Motives

Vane is not as loyal to Kaelen the Mirage-King as he appears. He intends to betray Kaelen once the Sun-Forge Oasis is captured, intending to seize the Anchor-Stone Shard for himself. He believes he can use its power to become the undisputed "God of the Plains" and turn the Shattered Plains into a new empire.

Combat Tactics

Vane rides a heavily armored, mutated Dune-Thresher into battle. He uses "Sand-Blind" powder to distract his enemies and delivers devastating melee strikes with his obsidian arm that cause "Bleeding" damage. He is incredibly difficult to knock prone and can call upon his horde to surround and swarm his targets.
