Admiral Hektor Ironheart

Admiral Hektor Ironheart is the supreme commander of Steamfort’s naval forces, overseeing the production and deployment of the massive ironclad dreadnoughts that protect the city's trade lanes. A man of few words and immovable resolve, Hektor is a veteran of a hundred aerial battles. His chest is adorned with medals forged from the scrap of ships he has personally defeated, and his presence on a bridge is enough to steady the nerves of even the most green recruit.

Hektor is a staunch believer in the superiority of Steamfort's industrial might over the "unreliable" magic of Kigum. He views the sky-city's mages with suspicion, preferring the cold, hard certainty of a 12-pounder cannon. Despite his stern exterior, he cares deeply for his crews and will never ask a soldier to do something he wouldn't do himself.

Secret Motivation: Hektor is secretly providing "surplus" armaments to the Salt Shields, a militia group in the Broad Swells, to help them defend against the growing threat of the Abyssal Fleet. He is doing this without the authorization of the Steamfort Council, fearing they are too focused on profit to see the coming war.

Adventure Hook: A high-ranking Steamfort official has gone missing, and Admiral Hektor is the prime suspect. The party is hired to investigate his flagship, the Iron Will, only to find themselves caught in the middle of a massive naval ambush by the Gilded Corsairs.
