He has entered into a dark covenant, the Pact of Cinders, with Ignis-Kaan, an ancient and malevolent red dragon. Ignis-Kaan provides the Cinder-Skulls with arcane knowledge and draconic fire, while Throm-Ka acts as the dragon's proxy, gathering tribute and weakening the defenses of the world for the dragon's eventual return to dominance.
