Jarl Throm Ka

NPC Profile: Jarl Throm-Ka
Role: High King of the Giantfolk Tribes Location: The Lifeless Swells (North-East) / Currently Raiding the Northern Wastes Specialization: Fire and Fury
Appearance
Throm-Ka is a Fire Giant of immense proportions, standing nearly 20 feet tall. His skin is the color of cooling lava, and his beard is made of literal flickering flames that burn brighter when he is enraged. He wears armor forged from the blackened scales of ancient dragons and carries a massive, two-handed greataxe that glows with an internal heat.
Personality
Throm-Ka is a charismatic, brutal, and deeply spiritual leader. He believes in the absolute strength of the elemental world and views the "smaller races" as parasites clinging to the earth. He is driven by a sense of divine purpose, believing that the volcanic eruptions that decimated his homeland were a command from the gods to conquer and reclaim the world.
Goals and Motivations
- Conquest and Survival: Throm-Ka's primary goal is to find a new, fertile homeland for his people, even if it means carving it out of the bones of the other continents.
- The Elemental Cleansing: He believes that the world must be "cleansed" by fire to return it to its primordial, powerful state.
- Service to the "Fire God": Throm-Ka believes he is communicating with a fire deity through the smoke and ash of the volcanoes. In reality, he is being manipulated by the whispers of Ignis-Kaan.
Secret
Throm-Ka is not entirely a Fire Giant. He is a half-giant, born of a union between a Fire Giant and a now-extinct race of ancient humans. This heritage gives him a level of tactical intelligence and strategic foresight that is rare among his kind, making him a far more dangerous threat than a simple brute.
Relationship with Other Factions
- Steamfort: He views them as his primary rivals, their "iron toys" being the only thing that has successfully stood in his way.
- Kigum: He considers their magic to be "soft" and "artificial," preferring the raw power of the elements.
- Ignis-Kaan: Throm-Ka worships the dragon as a god, completely unaware that he is merely a pawn in the dragon's larger game.
