Salt-Crust Golem

The Salt-Crust Golem is a powerful and mindless construct that inhabits the jagged Salt-Crusted Caves on the archipelago's coastline. These golems are not the work of any known Muridae wright, but are rather a "natural" manifestation of the intense magical and physical pressures of the caves. They are composed of compressed layers of white salt and sea-minerals, held together by a core of solidified aetheric runoff.

Salt-Crust Golems act as the territorial guardians of the caves. They are slow and lumbering, but their physical strength is immense, and their bodies are covered in razor-sharp shards that can shred non-magical armor. They are particularly aggressive toward anything that disturbs the silence of the caves or attempts to harvest the "Crystal Pillars."

Secret Motivation: The golems are instinctively drawn to "Ocean Stability." They often position themselves in areas where the tides are most erratic, using their own massive weight and internal resonance to "ground" the incoming energy and prevent the caves from collapsing.

Adventure Hook: A pair of Salt-Crust Golems has emerged from the caves and has begun to wander along the main root-channel leading to Drift-Haven. Their Presence is causing the water to become dangerously salty, killing the local fish. Captain Squeak hires the party to drive the golems back to the caves.
