Canopy-Leaper

The Canopy-Leaper is a predatory and highly agile monstrosity that inhabits the vibrant and dangerous upper branches of The Shrouded Boughs. These creatures appear to be a twisted fusion of a large feline and a predatory primate, with long, powerful limbs and a mottled green-and-brown fur that provides perfect camouflage among the foliage of the Mother-Tree. They are the primary reason why the Acorn Guard maintains such a high level of vigilance even within the city's borders.

Canopy-Leapers are solitary hunters that use their incredible jumping ability to move between branches with silent precision. They are ambush predators, often hanging from the undersides of branches to drop down on passing birds or Muridae scouts. While they are not as physically massive as the Giant Mangrove Gulls, their speed and ferocity make them a terrifying threat in the vertical environment of the canopy.

Secret Motivation: The leapers are instinctively drawn to the "Vibrations of Fear." They often stalk their prey for hours, using their natural stealth to stay just out of sight, slowly building the target's anxiety before striking at the most vulnerable moment.

Adventure Hook: A particularly aggressive Canopy-Leaper has been sighted near the Leaf-Kite Docks, and it has already attacked several glidists. Flight-Leader Pippin hires the party to track the creature and eliminate it before it causes more chaos in the city’s transport hub.
