The Aetheric Accord

The Aetheric Accord
The Aetheric Accord is an ancient and highly secretive arcane society based deep within the elven forests of Lemmion. Unlike the mages of Kigum who seek to harness and profit from Aether, the Accord is dedicated to the observation, protection, and stabilization of the world's Aether Currents.
Mission and Philosophy
The Accord believes that Aether is the lifeblood of Aethervale, and that the aggressive mining and refinement practices of Kigum and Steamfort are slowly bleeding the world dry, risking another catastrophic event like the Age of Ruin. They view magic as a sacred trust, not a resource to be exploited.
Organization
The society is highly stratified and difficult to join. Members are often chosen, rather than applying.
- The Arch-Wardens (The Inner Circle): Three ancient Elven magi who have lived since the end of the Age of Ruin. They are rarely seen outside their sanctums and possess a mastery of magic that dwarfs anything taught in Kigum.
- The Weavers: Scholars and researchers who map the invisible Aether Currents, predicting magical storms and identifying weakened nodes.
- The Sentinels: The militant arm of the Accord. They are elite spellblades who travel the world incognito, disrupting illegal Aether-mining operations, hunting dangerous rogue mages, and silencing those who delve into forbidden, world-breaking magic.
Relationship with the World
The Aetheric Accord is officially recognized neither by Kigum nor Steamfort. Kigum's Grand Arcane Bank views them as dangerous eco-terrorists and religious zealots who hinder progress. To the common folk, they are myths—figures in cloaks of woven starlight who appear to avert disasters before vanishing without a trace. Their greatest current concern is the growing size of the Mana Wastes and the terrifyingly rapid industrialization of the North.
