The Mammoth Hunt

Background & Objective

Thane Hrothgar of the Giantfolk Territories needs to supply his tribe for the coming winter. He challenges the party to join him on a grand hunt for a legendary creature: the Lithovore Behemoth, a creature that eats Raw Aether Crystals. Scout Nixie is hired as a tracker. It's a test of survival, skill, and endurance.

• The Glacier Canyon: A dead-end canyon where the Behemoth is cornered.

Encounters & Branching Paths

• Tracking the Beast (Skill Challenge): Following the massive trail through dangerous environmental hazards.
• The Pack Ambush (Combat): Fending off a pack of Void Hounds drawn to the Behemoth's aether trail.
• The Canyon Trap (Challenge): Setting up a trap using the canyon walls to restrict the Behemoth's movement.
• The Lithovore Clash (Combat): A massive, multi-stage boss fight against the Behemoth, targeting its aether-crystal weak points.

Narrative Outcomes & Loot

• Success: The Behemoth is slain. Hrothgar names the party "Honorary Thanes," granting them safe passage in his lands forever.
• Failure: The hunting party is routed; Hrothgar loses face, and his tribe faces starvation.
• Loot: A massive haul of digested Raw Aether Crystals, Behemoth hide armor, and giantfolk respect.
