Tiefling

Tieflings in Aethervale are a people defined by their resilience and adaptability, often forced to survive on the fringes of society due to the enduring prejudices against their infernal heritage. With their striking appearances—horns, tails, and unusual skin tones—they are frequently met with suspicion by the more dominant races. This marginalization has pushed many tieflings into the shadows, making their homes in the slums of major cities, the lawless outposts, and the shifting dunes of the wastes.
Out of necessity, many tieflings excel in professions that require operating outside the bounds of traditional law. They are highly sought after as mercenaries, smugglers, and information brokers. The Gilded Vein Syndicate, a powerful and secretive organization operating across multiple cities, is largely run by tieflings. They control lucrative black markets, moving illicit Aether-tech, rare artifacts, and restricted magical texts right under the noses of the authorities.
Despite the hardships they face, tieflings have developed a vibrant and fiercely loyal subculture. They place high value on found family, mutual protection, and personal freedom. While the world may view them with distrust, tieflings know that their survival depends on their wit, their charm, and their unwavering support for one another in a world that is often openly hostile to their existence.
