Senses darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 10

Languages Common, Draconic

Evasion.Snarl takes no damage on a successful Dexterity saving throw and half damage on a failure.
Pack Tactics.Snarl has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of Snarl's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.

Actions

Aether-Grenade.Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 30/60 ft. Hit: The grenade has a random effect: 1. Fire (14 (4d6) fire), 2. Force (14 (4d6) force and knocked prone), 3. Teleport (Target is teleported 20 feet in a random direction).
Smoke-Stick.Snarl creates a 20-foot-radius sphere of heavy smoke centered on himself. The area is heavily obscured. Snarl then takes the Hide action as a bonus action.

Appearance

Snarl is a scrawny, twitchy kobold with a belt overflowing with volatile alchemical vials and a backpack of ticking clockwork timers. He wears a pair of oversized, soot-stained goggles and a leather vest filled with shrapnel and scrap metal.

Personality

Hyperactive, paranoid, and obsessed with the "beauty of the blast," Snarl views every machine as a puzzle waiting to be "un-made." He talks to his explosives as if they were pets and has a high-pitched, manic laugh that echoes through the tunnels of Steamfort.

Secret Motives

Snarl wants to build the "Ultimate Firework"—a massive explosive using stolen Aether-Fuel that he believes will "light up the subterranean sky" of Steamfort. He doesn't care about the structural damage or the lives lost; he only wants to see the most beautiful explosion in history.

Combat Tactics

Snarl specializes in setting complex, multi-stage traps during combat. He throws "Aether-Grenades" that have random effects (Fire, Force, or Teleportation) and uses his small size to hide in cramped spaces. He is surprisingly fast and will use "Smoke-Sticks" to cover his retreat if a fight becomes too direct.
