Haldor Bronze-Beard

Haldor Bronze-Beard is a legendary master smith and engineer hailing from the smog-choked, industrial heart of Steamfort. Clad in a custom suit of heavy plating interwoven with brass pipes and pressure valves, Haldor is more machine than dwarf at this point. He oversees the Great Foundries, where the colossal ironclad hulls of Steamfort’s naval fleets are forged and assembled. His booming voice easily cuts through the deafening roar of the factory floor, barking orders to a legion of apprentices and automatons.

Haldor is fiercely traditional but possesses an undeniable genius for integrating raw Aether crystals into conventional steam engines, increasing their efficiency tenfold. Though he often clashes with the more magically inclined artificers of Kigum, he respects anyone who knows the true value of hard work and forged steel.

Secret Motivation: Haldor’s right arm is entirely mechanical, a prosthetic he built after a devastating workplace sabotage orchestrated by the Gear Grinders. He is secretly funneling foundry resources to build an elite squad of iron automatons to hunt down those responsible.

Adventure Hook: The players need a custom component built for an experimental airship. Haldor agrees to forge it, but only if the party ventures into a collapsed section of the Deep Mines to retrieve a rare vein of true-iron for his secret project.
