Colonel Valerius Stoneheart

Colonel Valerius Stoneheart is a prominent figure in Kigum’s military hierarchy and a high-ranking member of House Valerius. Unlike his more scholarly relatives who focus on the theoretical applications of Aether, Valerius is a man of action and steel. He wears a suit of heavy plate armor constantly glowing with a faint blue Aetheric hum, and carries a blade that can cleave through both physical and magical defenses.

Valerius is a firm believer that Kigum’s reliance on diplomacy and trade is a weakness. He envisions the sky-city not just as a hub of learning, but as the seat of a sprawling military empire that brings "order" to the chaotic lands below. His rhetoric has gained a significant following among the younger officers of the Arcane Ascendancy, who are tired of what they perceive as the slow, bureaucratic nature of the high council.
