Appearance

Chief Inquisitor Vance is a stern, middle-aged human in a long, lead-lined trench coat adorned with silver gears and hourglasses. He wears a pair of "Chrono-Goggles" that allow him to see seconds into the future and carries a heavy, custom-made revolver that fires chronomancy-infused rounds.

Personality

Disciplined, relentless, and obsessed with the sanctity of the timeline, Vance views himself as the only thing standing between Aethervale and total temporal chaos. He is a man of few words, preferring to let his actions—and his timeline-altering rounds—speak for him.

Secret Motives

Vance has seen a vision of the "Stillness" and believes that the Grand Arcane Heist is the trigger event that leads to the freezing of the world. He is willing to break any law, including the laws of time, and sacrifice entire city wards to ensure the heist fails and the timeline is preserved.

Combat Tactics

In battle, Vance uses "Chrono-Rounds" to slow or freeze enemies in time. He can "Rewind" his own position and health to a previous state and uses intent-parsing wards to counter enemy spells before they are even cast. He treats every fight like a game of 4D chess, always thinking several moves ahead.
