Ecology

The Iron-Clad Behemoth is a giant crustacean native to the Boiling Coast, modified by the Obsidian Scale with heavy, steam-powered armor and Aether-cannons bolted directly to its shell. It is a walking fortress, used to enforce blockades and crush coastal settlements.

Combat Mechanics

The Behemoth is virtually immune to front-facing attacks due to its reinforced shell and massive claws. It uses its claws for devastating melee strikes and its back-mounted Aether-cannons for long-range bombardment. It can vent superheated steam in a 20-foot radius to punish anyone who gets too close. It is slow-moving but nearly impossible to knock back or restrain.

Loot

The reinforced shell plates of a Behemoth can be salvaged and used as high-grade material for ship armor or the construction of permanent fortifications. The Aether-cannons, if recovered intact, can be mounted on a party's own vessel.
