Brittle Shell. If the worm takes cold damage, its AC decreases by 2 until the end of its next turn.

Actions

Multiattack. The worm makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its tail.
Bite.Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) piercing damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature, it must succeed on a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or be swallowed.
Tail Slam.Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage plus 7 (2d6) slashing damage from jagged glass shards.

Ecology

The Glass-Worm is a huge, segmented predator that "swims" through the solid glass dunes of the Shattered Plains. Its body is composed of reinforced, flexible crystal, and its saliva contains an alchemical compound that can flash-freeze sand into solid glass in seconds. It is a solitary hunter, claiming vast territories of the desert.

Combat Mechanics

The worm erupts from beneath the glass dunes, attempting to swallow targets whole. Its crystalline hide reflects light-based spells and grants it resistance to radiant damage. As it moves, it leaves behind a trail of jagged glass shards that act as magical caltrops. If it takes cold damage, its outer shell becomes brittle, reducing its AC for 1 round.

Loot

The worm's stomach often contains "Crystallized Saliva," a potent and rare component for cryomancy and the creation of Frost Brand weapons.
