Aether-Sense.The swarm can sense the presence of active magic items and spellcasting within 60 feet.
Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature's space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Tiny insect. The swarm can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.

Actions

Stings.Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 0 ft., one creature in the swarm's space. Hit: 10 (4d4) piercing damage, or 5 (2d4) piercing damage if the swarm has half of its hit points or fewer.
Aetheric Disruption.Every creature in the swarm's space must make a DC 11 Intelligence saving throw. On a failure, the creature has disadvantage on Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration on spells until the end of its next turn, and its next spell attack roll is made with disadvantage.

Aether Wasps

Aether Wasps are iridescent, crystalline insects that thrive in high-density Aether fields. Unlike common wasps, they do not feed on nectar, but on raw magical energy. They are most commonly found swarming around "bleeding" Aether-pipelines in Steamfort or nesting in the mana-sumps of Kigum. Individually, an Aether Wasp is a mere nuisance, but in a swarm, they can drain a seasoned mage of their power in seconds.

Their wings emit a high-pitched, melodic hum that can harmonize with active spells, often causing them to "flicker" or fail entirely.

Secret Motivation: The wasps are actually a biological mechanism developed by the Ancient Aether-Spirits to regulate mana-leakage. They are attracted to unstable magic and seek to "seal" it by consuming the excess energy.

Adventure Hook: A major Aether-node in the Kigum Spire has been infested by a massive swarm of Aether Wasps. The city's lighting is failing, and the floating sectors are beginning to drift. The party is hired to "clear the nest" without damaging the delicate node.
