Location: Drift-Haven / The Deep-Dive Grotto Level Range: 6-8

Background & Objective

A group of Deep-Stalkers has moved into the channels beneath Drift-Haven, preying on the town’s Mist-Turtles and damaging the floating platforms. Captain Squeak hires the party to descend into The Deep-Dive Grotto, find the Deep-Stalkers' lair, and clear them out before they cause the town to sink.

The Gimmick: Total Darkness

The grotto is in absolute darkness. Magical light is suppressed, providing only dim light in a 10-foot radius. Characters must rely on blindsight, tremorsense, or non-visual senses to fight effectively.

Tactical Combat & Challenges

  • Fighting underwater against Huge-sized monstrosities that are immune to pressure damage.
  • Managing the "Crushing Pressure" and the cold of the deep water.
  • Avoiding the "Hallucinatory Glow" of the cavern’s crystalline walls.

Narrative Outcomes & Loot

Clearing the grotto secures the town’s foundation and earns the party a permanent berth in Drift-Haven. Loot includes Deep-Sea Pearls, a Root-Anchor, and a Cap of Water Breathing recovered from a shipwreck.
