Background & Objective

A deep exploratory shaft in Dal Dur has breached a pocket of pure Void energy, cutting it off from standard physical reality. The original mining crew was lost, and the Syndicate has marked the shaft as "404 - Not Found." The party is hired by the family of the lost crew to recover their remains and any valuable equipment left behind.

The Gimmick: The Lost Connection

The mine exists in a "Void Pocket." Light sources only reach half their normal distance, and teleportation spells have a 50% chance of failing entirely or sending the user to a random, potentially dangerous spot in the room.

Tactical Combat & Challenges

• Shadow-Dwarves: The remnants of the lost mining crew, now consumed by the void. They can step freely through solid rock walls and grapple players, attempting to drag them into the darkness.
• Navigation: Players must navigate the disorienting, light-swallowing environment while managing the erratic nature of spatial magic.

Narrative Outcomes & Loot

• Success: The remains are recovered, bringing closure, and the void pocket is sealed.
• Huge Throbbing Treasure: The Void-Lantern. A lantern shedding light that can reveal invisible creatures and create "ghost-walk" paths through solid rock once per day. Includes 5,500 GP in ancient gold coins.
