Background & Objective
The party has accidentally disrupted a sacred ritual in The Echoing Grotto. The Mist-Weaver Coven has unleashed the Mist-Sentinels, and the forest itself is turning against the intruders. The party must navigate the shifting crystalline root-maze and escape to the open sea before the grotto collapses or they are "Lost" forever in the mist.
The Gimmick: Shifting Maze
The grotto’s layout changes every time a character makes a loud noise. To navigate successfully, the party must remain silent and use non-vocal communication.
Tactical Combat & Challenges
- Fighting spectral Mist-Sentinels that are resistant to physical damage.
- Managing the "Sonic Overload" caused by spells and combat.
- Using Fog-Tongue (if known) or Survival checks to find the exit through the shifting mist.
Narrative Outcomes & Loot
If the party escapes, they are banned from the Boughs for a year but gain a deep understanding of Muridae magic. Loot includes Singing Moss, rare crystalline shards, and a Pearl of Power recovered from a submerged altar.
